  • 10 oz
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1
    garlic clove, minced
  • 1 can
    chopped tomatoes (14 oz)
  • 2 tbsp
    olive oil
  • salt, pepper
  • For Breading:

  • ¾ cup
    all-purpose flour
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup
    breadcrumbs
  • cooking spray or vegetable oil for brushing

Directions

1
In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent.
2
Stir in the risotto rice and cook for 1–2 minutes until it becomes slightly translucent.
3
Pour in the white wine and stir until the liquid has mostly been absorbed.
4
Gradually add the vegetable stock, one ladle at a time, stirring continuously until the rice is al dente (this should take around 20–25 minutes).
5
Stir in the Parmesan cheese and butter, seasoning with salt and pepper. Once well combined, remove from heat.
6
Allow the risotto to cool for a few minutes before stirring in 1 beaten egg. Let it cool completely.
7
In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
8
Reduce the heat, then add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until soft and translucent.
9
Stir in the chopped tomatoes, Italian Allrounder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes until the sauce thickens. Set aside to cool.
10
Once the risotto is cool, shape it into golf ball-sized portions. Press a hollow into each ball with your thumb.
11
Place about 1 teaspoon of the cooled beef mixture into the hollow, then carefully mold the risotto around the filling to seal it and form a complete ball.
12
Roll each ball first in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs.
13
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F.
14
Lightly spray the arancini with cooking spray or brush them with vegetable oil to help them brown.
15
Place the arancini in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren’t touching (you may need to cook them in batches).
16
Air-fry for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
17
Once cooked, remove the arancini from the air fryer and let them cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm, ideally with your favorite dipping sauce.

Note

Air Fryer Arancini

These arancini are deliciously crispy fried rice balls filled with a flavorful ground beef mixture. By air-frying instead of deep frying, you get all the crunch without the extra oil. These air fryer arancini are perfect for a snack or a fun dinner. Don’t have an air fryer? No worries – you can shallow-fry them in batches to get that same golden crust. Our Italian Allrounder adds a rich, authentic flavor to every bite.
